MMPI presents Fine Design 2005

Residential component to NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, June 13-15

-- Home Accents Today, 6/3/2005 9:58:00 AM

Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. presents Fine Design 2005, the residential component to NeoCon World’s Trade Fair, June 13-15, at The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The Design Center showrooms offer trade professionals the opportunity to explore the latest in luxury home furnishings and view the newest product offerings from the biggest names in high-end design.

Design Center showrooms on floors 6, 16, 17 and 18 and the LuxeHome boutiques on the first floor all will be participating in Fine Design.

The most anticipated aspect of the show is the introductions from the upscale showrooms, which will preview products not yet seen anywhere else.

During the show attendees can hear advice from famous designers chosen as keynote speakers and bid on specialty pet houses created by local designers using Mart showroom products at the Parade of Pet Homes exhibit. The pet homes will be auctioned off at a separate event in July and proceeds will benefit The Anti-Cruelty society.

Well-known interior designer and HGTV’s Designing for the Sexes host Michael Payne will deliver a presentation addressing designing for the sexes conflicts ranging from color choice to the placement of a big-screen television to the age-old problem of what to do with family heirlooms and collectibles.

Robert Verdi, the official fashion and style expert for E! Networks and co-host of Discovery Channel’s, Surprise by Design, will discuss upcoming trends in home fashion while tracing many of these trends to developments seen on the runway.
